St Francis, Free Style, enter final phase of Annual League Basketball Championship 2025-26

Hyderabad: St. Francis boys and Free Style Ballers registered comfortable wins, BHEL Club (68 – 31) and 7 Seas (85 – 53) respectively, to enter the final phase to qualify from Level-III to Level-II in the Annual League Basketball Championship 2025-26 for G M Sampath Kumar Trophy being held at YMCA Secunderabad here on Wednesday.
Freestyle Ballers played a fast-paced game with Sanjay and Vishal playing in tandem; however, Sai Krishna of 7 Seas scored successive three drive-in shots as Freestyle Ballers led 14 – 8 at the end of the first quarter.
In the second quarter, aided by two three-pointers from Sai Krishna, 7 Seas scored 16 points and restricted Freestyle to 14 points as Freestyle Ballers led 28 – 24 at halftime.
After a change of ends, there was no stoppage of Sahil of Freestyle Ballers as he scored at will. Surya and Sachin complemented him well as Freestyle Ballers scored 23 and 34 points (Total 57 points in 2nd half) in the 3rd and 4th quarter and won the match 85 – 53.
In another match, St. Francis Boys breezed past BHEL Club 68 – 31 after leading 38 – 15 at half-time to advance to the Final Knockout Phase from Level-III to Level-II.
