Staff per factory high in Telangana: Data

Hyderabad: The youngest State of the country employs more employees and workers per factory when compared to the all-India numbers, a recent abstract released by the State showed. The Telangana State Statistical Abstract-2020 showed that under the Industry category, the State employs 74 employees and 62 workers per factory while all-India numbers stood at 66 and 51 respectively. In addition, the State is home to 11,679 factories with employee strength of around 8,61,993 and workers strength of 7,25,508.

In terms of total output the factories produced Rs 2,62,142.5 crore with a working capital of Rs 52,28,772 lakh and fixed capital of Rs 95,30,314 lakh. The output per worker stood at Rs 36.1 lakh and the output per factory was at Rs 2,244.6 lakh compared with all-India numbers of Rs 66 lakh and Rs 3,396.2 lakh respectively.

District-wise numbers

The top five districts having the highest number of factories in Telangana are Medchal-Malkajgiri, Rangareddy, Khammam, Sangareddy and Hyderabad. However, the top district with the largest number of employees and workers is Nizamabad with 434 factories employing 2 lakh-plus employees and workers.

The other districts having large number of people working in factories are Rangareddy with one lakh-plus employees and workers, Medak with one lakh-plus employees and 85,000 workers, Medchal-Malkajgiri with one lakh-plus employees and 80,000 workers. Hyderabad district has 29,000 employees and 20,000 workers working in the factories.

In terms of output, Rangareddy topped the chart with Rs 63,75,048 lakh total output followed by Medak (Rs 37,41,476 lakh), Medchal-Malkajgiri (Rs 30,96,639 lakh), Nalgonda (Rs 23,16,482 lakh) and Mahabubnagar (Rs 22,85,584 lakh).
