Hyderabad: An engineering student, who allegedly threatened a girl from his class by brandishing an airgun and an acid bottle, was caught by the public and thrashed at Jawaharnagar here on Friday.

Police said the youngster Abhishek, from Sai Nagar in Dammaiguda, had been stalking the girl on the pretext of love and was harassing her on WhatsApp for the last few days. Following this, the girl warned him to stop. However, angered by her response, Abhishek came to meet her armed with an airgun and an acid bottle on Friday.
