Stalker throws acid on nursing student in Khammam
Ganesh has been harassing young woman for a long time. He threw acid on her after she rejected his proposal
Khammam: An incident of acid attack against a young woman, a nursing second year student at the local Government Nursing College, came to light in Khammam lately.
According to the victim’s family members a youth, Ganesh has been harassing and stalking the teenager for long forcing her to love him. On January 13 when she was drawing rangoli in front of her house at Srinivasa Nagar in Khammam city the youth threw acid at her and she ran into the house after escaping from him.
Ganesh fled the scene as the locals gathered after listening to her screaming in pain. The family members rushed her to a local hospital for treatment. She suffered burn injuries on one of her hands and stomach. Her condition was said to be out of danger.
Based on the complaint of the acid attack victim on Tuesday, the three-town police registered an FIR against the accused and reportedly took him into custody. The student lost her father sometime back and was living with her mother and brother.
The family members informed the media that due to the harassment of the accused, the student had attempted suicide twice in the past. The accused also threatened to kill the student’s brother Venkatesh, a B Tech student, if she refused to love him.
