Hyderabad: A local court granted regular bail to actor Allu Arjun on Friday in connection with the Sandhya Theatre stampede case. The ‘Pushpa-2’ star, who was earlier granted a four-week interim bail by the Telangana High Court, had been awaiting a decision on his regular bail petition. The court directed the actor to submit two sureties each worth Rs 50,000.
The actor’s legal team and the Chikkadpally police already concluded their arguments earlier and the court had reserved the verdict.
The incident happened on December 4 when Allu Arjun attended the premiere of ‘Pushpa 2: The Rule’ at Sandhya Theatre. A massive crowd gathered to catch a glimpse of the actor and chaos ensued when he waved to fans from the sunroof of his car. This allegedly led to the tragic death of a woman named Revathi and injuries to her nine-year-old son.
Following the incident, Allu Arjun was arrested and later released on bail after furnishing a surety bond of Rs 50,000.
