Star Health insurance covers 24 lakh lives in AP, Telangana
Star Health Insurance said it covers over 24 lakh lives across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. The company settled nearly 1.7 lakh claims worth Rs 1,150 crore in FY26 and has expanded outreach across 720 villages and towns.

Hyderabad: Star Health and Allied Insurance Company Limited, with a distribution network of over 75 branches across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, and supported by more than 89,000 advisors and 1,800 network hospitals, currently covers over 24 lakh lives, a press release said.
Since its inception, Star Health Insurance has paid claims worth over Rs 63,000 crore across India – approving close to 4 claims every minute. In AP and Telangana, during FY26, the company has settled nearly 1.7 lakh claims amounting to approximately Rs 1,150 crore. The Gross Written Premium for the same period stands at Rs 1,990 crores.
With sharp, on-ground outreach, the company has already connected with over 1 million people across 720 villages and towns. Himanshu Walia, whole-time director, Star Health Insurance, said, “Health insurance in India is undergoing a shift from being seen only as support during hospitalisation to becoming a broader health partner that encourages preventive care, wellness and financial resilience for families facing rising healthcare costs.”
