Hyderabad: Star Health and Allied Insurance Company Limited, which has 35 health insurance plans, would launch two more affordable plans with a special focus on tier II and III cities. A formal announcement on the new plans would be made in a month.

The company is expanding into the smaller towns and villages, Star Health MD and CEO Anand Roy said at a press conference here on Tuesday.

In the financial year 2025-26, the company settled claims worth Rs.1,254 crore covering 1.8 lakh claims in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana regions. This increased by nearly 24 percent compared with Rs 1,014 crore in the financial year 2024-25, he said.

The company has also strengthened its presence in the region, with regional Gross Written Premium (GWP) growing from Rs 1,928 crore in financial year 2024-25 to Rs 2,268 crore in financial year 2025-26, while the number of policies increased from 8.8 lakh to 9.4 lakh, Roy stated.

Almost 10 per cent of the company’s business comes from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, he added.
