Hyderabad: BJP National OBC Morcha president K Laxman on Sunday demanded that the State government start giving unemployment allowance to jobless youth in the State.

Addressing a press conference here, he urged the State government not to delay implemention of the unemployment allowance. He also urged the State government to immediately issue notification to fill vacant posts in various government departments.

Taking exception to the State government’s move to give permission to private universities, Laxman alleged the private universities will not implement reservations and render injustice to students from SC/STs and BCs.

He said the decision taken by Prime Narendra Modi to ensure reservations to OBCs benefited as many as 70,000 students in various central educational institutions including Navodhya and Sainik Schools, and National Law Universities.

Finding fault with the government for delaying promotions and transfers of teaching staff, he sought to know the reasons for the delay in giving promotions to teaching staff.

He also demanded that the State government take up recruitment in various universities and other educational institutions. Laxman exuded confidence that the BJP MLC candidates G. Premchander Reddy and N Ramchander Rao would win the elections from their respective graduates’ constituencies.
