Hyderabad: The State government on Monday has launched administration of Albendazole tablets to all children and adolescents aged one to 19 years in Telangana, as part of the National Deworming Day (NDD).
The deworming day, aimed at eliminating soil-transmitted helminth infections among vulnerable age groups, is being conducted across all the districts of Telangana and its mop-up drive, for those who miss-out on a dose on Monday, will be held on July 20.

To smoothly implement the initiative, the State health department is coordinating with departments including Education, Women Development and Child Welfare (WD&CW), and other line departments.
Administration of the tablets is taking place exclusively through Anganwadi centers, schools, and colleges.
Beyond eliminating worm infections, the health department is anticipating the campaign to reduce anemia and related morbidities, improve student energy levels, decrease school absenteeism, and enhance overall work performance and efficacy.
