State govt supported development of Khammam: Puvvada

Khammam: The State government has extended its full cooperation for the development of Khammam city, stated Transport Minister Puvvada Ajay Kumar.
With the active support of the Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao and IT, MA&UD Minister KT Rama Rao and with the release of sufficient funds development works worth several crores have been executed in every municipal division, he said.
Speaking at a meeting organised here on Sunday to felicitate the TRS corporators whose tenure ended recently, Ajay Kumar said the functioning of the Khammam Municipal Council was excellent and there has been tremendous improvement in the city’s infrastructure.
He lauded the corporators for services, for the past five years, in their respective divisions and asserted that the TRS party was going to win the upcoming Khammam municipal elections. He also lauded the corporators’ efforts for the party victory in graduate MLC polls.
In another programme at VDO’s camp office Ajay Kumar distributed a total of 53 cash cheques offering financial assistance worth about Rs 26. 59 lakh to the beneficiaries under the CMRF and other provisions.
The minister also distributed Kalyana Lakshmi and Shadi Mubarak cheques worth around Rs 53.06 lakh to 53 beneficiaries. He informed that as many as 5000 families benefitted with the scheme and cheques worth Rs 5.21 crore distributed so far.
A large number of employees of Transport Department from across the erstwhile Khammam district have called on the minister at his residence to celebrate the Chief Minister’s recent announcement on PRC and enhancing retirement age.
MLC B Lakshminarayana, SUDA Chairman Bachu Vijay Kumar, former Mayor G Papalal, TRS district party office in-charge Gundala Krishna and others were present.
