State-of-the-art Dhobighat launched in Mahabubnagar

Mahabubnagar: Tourism Minister V Srinivas Goud launched a Dhobighat, which is equipped with state-of-the-art laundry machinery, at Old Palamuru here on Friday. It was constructed at a cost of Rs 52.04 lakh.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao was taking all steps to protect traditional occupations of all castes, especially the Rajaka (washermen) community, which has been facing several hardships.
The Minister said such advanced and modernised Dhobighats would be set up in other areas of Mahabubnagar, besides in every district across the State in the days to come. He directed the officials to commence operations at the modern Dobighat set up in Mahabubnagar from Saturday. Steps should be taken to wash the linens from commercial lodges and hospitals at the Dobighat, he said.
A community hall was also constructed at Mahabubnagar district headquarters for the development of the Rajaka community and it would be inaugurated soon, the Minister said, adding similar support would be extended to all castes in the future.
The Telangana government has set up 1,000 Gurukuls in the State for providing quality education to students from the Backward Classes. He directed the officials to regularly monitor the quality of education offered in the Gurukuls.
