Telangana: Tens of thousands of devotees offered prayers to tribal deities at Medaram in Mulugu district of Telangana on the last day of Medaram Jatara. Tribals from different parts of Telangana and neighbouring States made a beeline to pay obeisance to Sammakka and Saralamma and offer jaggery as per the tradition. The four-day fair, considered as the largest tribal fair in Asia, came to an end with the priests taking back the deities to forest as per the tradition. Telangana Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan also offered prayers on the last day of Sammakka Saralamma Jatara. Tribals congregate at Medaram once in two years to celebrate the valour of legendary warriors Sammakka and Sarakka.
Uttar Pradesh
The Akhil Bhartiya Sant Samiti, Akhil Bhartiya Akhara Parishad and Shri Kashi Vidvat Parishad have launched a campaign ‘Hamari Kashi, Hamare Devalaya’ to look after the 1,000 neglected and forlorn temples mentioned in ‘Kashi Khand’ of ‘Skanda Purana’.


The campaign has been launched by president of Akhil Bhartiya Akhara Parishad, Mahant Ravindra Puri. Some 108 such temples would be covered under the first phase of the campaign and Akhil Bhartiya Sant Samiti will allocate Rs 2,500 per month for worship and Rs 5,000 a month for the serving priest as honorarium. The resolution of this campaign was taken in the Sanskritik Sansad in Kashi last year.
New Delhi
Amid plans to implement the new education policy (NEP) in 46 central universities across the country, a new challenge has emerged in the form of a shortage of at least 6,481 teachers in these universities. The University of Delhi is the largest university among all the 46 central universities.

However, a total of 859 posts of teachers are lying vacant. Advertisements have also been issued many times to fill the vacant position. Despite the screening process by several varsities such as Delhi University, the posts were not filled. Many academicians have demanded a circular be issued to the Vice Chancellors of all Central Universities before the implementation of the National Education Policy.
Himachal Pradesh
Himachal Pradesh Fisheries Department will import eight lakh genetically modified species of brown and rainbow trout, the cold-water species introduced by British India in HP during colonial times.

The government imported 15 lakh rainbow trout and three lakh brown trout from Denmark from 2018 to 2021 to boost the fish production. The imported trout ova is being reared at Hamni and Batahar farms in Kullu district, Barot in Mandi district, Thalla in Chamba district, Dhamwari in Shimla district and Sangla in Kinnaur district up to fingerling stage. Later they are distributed among growers for farming. The State has huge resources of freshwater for the rainbow trout farming.
Kerala
Kerala has set an ambitious target of having over 15,000 startups and 200,000 jobs in emerging technologies in five years.Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said it while inaugurating the third edition of the ‘Huddle Global 2022’, organised by the Kerala Startup Mission (KSUM). ‘Huddle Global 2022’ offers startups a platform to showcase products and interact with technology/industry leaders, besides providing them the scope to explore ways on moving ahead in the world emerging from Covid-19. KSUM is the nodal agency of the Kerala government for entrepreneurship development and incubation activities in the State. Kerala Startup Mission (KSUM) also announced a collaboration with global tech firm Google for startups to connect with the global startup community.
