Hyderabad: Union Home Minister Amit Shah said the Statue of Equality will inspire people striving to do their bit for society. He appealed to Sri Chinna Jeeyar Swamy to conduct more such programmes which would motivate people to promote the teachings of Saint Sri Ramanuja.

“After visiting this place, I got a lot of motivation and inspiration to move forward in my life. This place gives peace to the soul,” said Amit Shah on Tuesday.

Every time, there was an attack on Sanathan Dharma, saints have arrived to protect and promote the dharma. Saint Sri Ramanuja also arrived to protect dharma and promote equality of all sections in the society, especially women empowerment, he said.

“The Statue of Equality looks amazing from afar. In the future generations, people, irrespective of their beliefs, will visit this place and speak volumes about the efforts of Sri Ramanuja,” said Amit Shah.

The union Home Minister visited the 108 Divya Deshas at the Statue of Equality and opened the theatre complex and ticket counter on the premises. He also participated in the Sri Lakshmi Narayana yagam daily Purnahuti event.

Earlier in the day, on the auspicious occasion of Rathasapthami, a mass recitation of Aditya Hrudayam was performed by people, who assembled at the venue. Later, Ahobilam Sri Ramanujeeyar Swamy conducted the Sri Nrusimha Ashthotara Sathanamavali puja. In the evening, a mass recitation of Sri Vishnu Sahasranama was performed by people in the presence of Sri Chinna Jeeyar Swamy.
