Hyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao said the ‘Statue of Equality’ at Muchintal would promote and spread the message of equal respect to all human beings. “The great Ramanujacharya’s preaching was that we are all children of God and he loves everyone equally. Everyone should be loved, treated and respected equally,” he said.
The Chief Minister visited Sriramanagaram in Muchintal on Thursday and participated in Sri Ramanuja Millennium celebrations. Speaking to the media, he said, there was no contribution from anyone and it was only Sri Tridandi Chinna Jeeyar Swamy’s inspiration that made this project possible. It was the mission of Sri Chinna Jeeyar Swamy to promote the preaching of Sri Ramanuja and make the entire world follow the same. “Statue of Equality will influence the people all over the world and I hope people from different places across the globe visit the place. Swamy has got many plans to conduct discourses and promote peace and harmony,” said Chandrashekhar Rao.
This will be an ideal place for all international tourists and others, who seek peace. It was a matter of great pride for Hyderabad and Telangana as every year lakhs of people are expected to visit, he said. “Statue of Equality will send a message of peace and harmony not only for India but for the entire world and people will benefit from it,” he said.
On the second day of Sri Ramanuja ‘Sahasrabadi Samaroham’, the proceedings commenced with ‘Agni Mathanam’, a process in which fire is generated naturally without using matchsticks or lighters, amidst Vedic mantras. Ahobila Jeeyar Swami and eight other Jeeyar Swamis went to every ‘Yagasala’ and presented the ‘Diksha vastras’ to all Ruthwiks. At 10 am, the ‘Arani madhanam’, with the ‘Vishwaksena Aradhana’, the ‘Sudarshana Ishti’ and the ‘Vasudeva Ishti’ were commenced, followed by the ‘Dwajarohana’ programme, where the Garuda flag is installed and Chinna Jeeyar Swami hoisted the Garuda Pathakam after offering prayers.
