STF seizes 13 bottles of illegal defence liquor in Meerpet raid, one arrested
The Special Task Force of the Prohibition and Excise Department raided a house in Meerpet and seized 13 bottles of non-duty-paid Defence Liquor allegedly being sold illegally. One person was arrested, and the seized liquor was handed over for further legal action.

HYDERABAD: The Special Task Force (STF) team of the Prohibition and Excise Department on Wednesday, in the early hours, raided a house at Manneguda Laxmi Mega Township Limited in Meerpet and seized 13 bottles of non-duty-paid liquor allegedly being sold illegally.
One person, Ootaganti Srinivas Goud, who was involved in the illegal sale of non-duty-paid liquor from his residence, was arrested.
During the search, the team seized 13 liquor bottles. Upon examination, the bottles were found to be ‘Defence Liquor’, which is meant exclusively for sale through authorised defence canteens and cannot be sold in the open market, the officials maintained.
The seized liquor bottles, along with the accused, were handed over to the Meerpet Excise Station for further legal action. An investigation is underway.
