HYDERABAD: The Forum for Good Governance (FGG) appealed to the Chief Secretary to stop the practice of paying income tax of the Chief Minister and Ministers from tax payers’ money.

Many States in the country had already stopped the practice of paying their income tax from government funds. Further, as the financial year was concluding, the details of income tax paid by the government for the Chief Minister and other Ministers should be uploaded on the State government website, FGG president M Padmanabha Reddy said in a letter to the Chief Secretary.

He also said General Administration Department (GAD) had refused to share the details of income tax being paid from public funds. In reply to an appeal, the GAD said that the information was related to privacy information of the individual and as such could not be furnished, he said.
