Hyderabad: With one of the hashtags ‘stoplandgrab’, University of Hyderabad (UoH) students, alumni and concerned citizens on Friday launched a campaign on X against the Telangana Congress government‘s decision to auction 400 acres of university land.
Students ran the campaign with hashtags ‘saveHCU’, ‘stoplandgrab’ and ‘saveHCUbiodiversity’ against the government, which according to students attempted to grab the university land in Kancha Gachibowli.
In one such post, a UoH History student, @Mehboob_17, posted: “Telangana Govt’s land grab attempt is a threat to education & biodiversity! Join the resistance!”
The UoH student, teaching and non-teaching communities have been up in arms against the State government’s decision to auction 400 acres of university land.
According to them, the move would destroy flora and fauna, creating ecological imbalance.
