Hyderabad: City Police Commissioner VC Sajjanar issued a stern warning that stringent action will be taken against those obstructing, threatening or attacking government officials on duty including police personnel, teachers and TGSRTC staff.

In a post on his X account on Thursday, Sajjanar noted that assaults or interference with employees performing official duties will attract serious charges under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), specifically Sections 221, 132 and 121(1).

Cases will be registered immediately, and history sheets will also be opened against habitual offenders.

“People must understand that once a criminal case is registered, it can cast a long shadow on their future. It can affect passport issuance, government job opportunities and many other aspects of life. A moment of anger can result in lifelong consequences,” Sajjanar cautioned.

The Commissioner urged the public to maintain restraint and cooperate with government employees who work under challenging conditions to serve citizens.
