Suryapet: The police on Saturday tightened restrictions at Telangana-Andhra Pradesh border at Ramapuram crossroad near Kodad in Suryapet district. They made e-pass mandatory for the people to cross the border to enter Telangana State during the lockdown relaxation time. The permission for ambulances would continue as earlier.
Superintendent of Police R Bhaskaran inspected arrangements at the TS-AP border at Ramapuram cross road and instructed the police personnel to enforce the restrictions strictly. Speaking on the occasion, Bhaskaran said that except for emergency services like ambulances and essential commodities vehicles, vehicles would not be allowed into the State from the border points at Mellcheruvu, Chinthalapalem, Mattampally and Palakeedu mandals, which are bordering mandals of Andhra Pradesh State.
He stated that a few people were entering Telangana State from Andhra Pradesh during the lockdown relaxation period. Hence, e-pass was made mandatory for people to enter into the State even during the lockdown relaxation time.
