Hyderabad: Ganges Valley School celebrated Rashtriya Ekta Diwas – the National Unity Day on October 30. The Government of India introduced Rashtriya Ekta Diwas to mark the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and pay tribute to his great work and contribution to the political integration of India.
The school commemorated the day by organizing a special assembly. Students of classes VIII to XI danced in traditional attire of various States, showcasing different Indian dance forms. Their display imparted the message of ‘Unity is Strength’.
Social Studies teacher Puja Kak set the ball rolling by reciting a few short inspiring poems. The celebrations honoured the Iron Man of India’s contribution to the country and helped students understand the relevance of being united as a country in today’s times. As the saying goes, the youth are the future of any country, and students realised that the responsibility to promote and foster the country’s unity, harmony and solidarity lies in their hands.
The assembly ended with Vice Principal Cinymol’s speech that inspired the students to keep a united front as the citizens of India.
