Nalgonda: Rewards and recognition automatically follow when one has a brilliant and innovative mind. Basheera, a Class 9 student of Government Girls High School in Nalgonda, would have realised this early in her life with District Collector Prashant Jeevan Patil initiating moves to allot a 2BHK house for her family on Tuesday given their financial background.
The allotment of the house for Basheera’s family comes in the wake of instructions from Minister for Municipal Administration and Urban Development K T Rama Rao who was impressed by her innovative hydraulic chair at the just-concluded “School Innovation Challenge” held in Hyderabad.
After seeing her innovative “Hydraulic Lifting and Rotating Chair” at the event, Rama Rao inquired about the condition of the student’s family and instructed the District Collector over phone to allocate a double bedroom house to them. Basheera, who hails from a poor family, invented the hydraulic lifting and rotating chair after seeing the condition of her father, who was suffering from paralysis.
According to an official press release, the District Collector also initiated steps to provide admission to Basheera’s sister in Kendriya Vidyalaya in Nalgonda.
Basheera, accompanied by her school teachers, met Patil at his chamber in the District Collectorate on Tuesday and explained her project to him.
