Hyderabad: Osmania University on Wednesday continued to witness protests demanding the withdrawal of the circular banning protests on the campus.
A large number of student leaders under the auspices of the OU United Students Associations JAC squatted on the varsity main road as part of their protest
Speaking on the occasion, the student leaders said the Vice-Chancellor who was appointed by the Congress government was conspiring to suppress dissent from the student community on the campus.
They said the OU campus was the epicenter of the Telangana movement and banning the protests was stifling their voices.
The students sought to know from the Congress government whether it wanted to implement policies that oppose freedom of expression.
The protesters were arrested by the local police and were shifted to various police stations in the city.
The protest was led by Left, Dalit, Bahujan, Tribal, Adivasi and independent student leaders.
