Hyderabad: Several students were detained by police on Wednesday during a protest against a talk session organised by the Bhagat Singh Youth Club on the campus of the English and Foreign Languages University (EFLU), reportedly featuring the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS).
Those detained included EFLU Students’ Union president Harshad Shibin, general secretary Irfan Shajudheen and joint secretary Haleemathu Saadiya.
The detentions led to further tension among students, with protesters opposing the conduct of the RSS-related session on the university premises.
The detained student leaders and other members were released by police later in the evening.
