Student unions affiliated to Left parties call for Osmania University bandh on March 20

Protest against the university's circular banning protests on campus and meagre funds allocated to the education sector in the State’s budget

Hyderabad: In protest against Osmania University’s circular banning protests on the campus, Left student organisations called for a university bandh on Thursday.

The student organisations — SFI, AISF, PDSU, PDSU (V), PSU, and AIDSO — also called for a protest against the meagre funds allocated to the education sector in the State budget that was presented on Wednesday.

Protests continued on Wednesday with a large number of student leaders under the auspices of the Osmania University United Students Associations Joint Action Committee squatting on the varsity main road, demanding circular withdrawal.
