Adilabad: Under the aegis of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi Vidyarthi (BRSV) wing, around 300 students staged a dharna demanding immediate release of scholarships and fee reimbursement in Utnoor mandal centre on Tuesday.

Students studying Intermediate, degree and post-graduation courses staged a sit-in in front of the Integrated Tribal Development Authority (ITDA)-Utnoor. They raised slogans against the government for delaying the payment of scholarships and fees under the reimbursement scheme. They demanded it to sanction the scholarships and fees.

BRSV district president Dharani Rajesh alleged that the government was adopting anti-student policies. Accusing the government of negligence in releasing scholarships and fees under the reimbursement scheme, he said meritorious students were quitting studies as they could not clear the fees and get certificates from their educational institutions.

He further stated that the students were starved as they were not fed quality food at government-run hostels. He regretted that managements of private educational institutions were forced to lock colleges due to the delay in granting the scholarships and fees. He wanted the government to lay focus on the problems of the students.

Kranthi Bhumanna, Sajid, Jadi Venkatesh, Srikanth, Dinesh and many others were present.
