Student’s death: Telangana Medical Council serves notice to Balaji Nursing Home
Instructs the nursing home to furnish detailed explanation, along with investigations advised to the patient

Hyderabad: The Telangana Medical Council (TGMC) served a notice to Balaji Nursing Home (Saraswati Hospital) in Thorrur town of Mahbubabad district, seeking explanation on the death of a Class IX student, who allegedly passed away after a few minutes into administering an injection.
Citing the incident report in a vernacular media, the Council, which suo moto took the case, instructed the nursing home to furnish a detailed explanation, along with investigations advised to the patient.
According to the report, the student who suffered from cold and fever was taken to the nursing home. After examining, the patient was suggested to do certain investigations and an injection was administered. However, as per the allegations of the victim’s family, the patient died within a few minutes after the doctor gave the injection.
The nursing home was asked to send the information in an affidavit form, along with necessary documents and hospital registration and medical registration certificates to the Council, within a week from the date of receipt of the notice.
The TGMC warned the nursing home that the case would be referred to the ethics committee for necessary action, if explanation was not submitted or failed to appear before the Council within the stipulated time.
