Hyderabad: AICTE Chief Coordinating Officer Dr Buddha Chandrashekhar said there was a need for education, skilling, reskilling and upskilling for every student nowadays.
Addressing the valedictory function of a boot camp on Data Structures and Algorithms (DSA) for Deeptech organised by Brain O’ Vision here, Dr Chandrashekhar said Indians are capable and doing well in every part of the world.
He cited NASA as an example and said some of the best scientists, educationists, doctors, nurses and entrepreneurs were Indians. However, while capability is the strength of Indians, they are lacking in “thinking out of the box”.
Stating that there were huge opportunities awaiting students in supply chain and logistics systems, which they could explore, he said the maritime and cyber security sectors too remained unexplored. He urged students to explore these areas.
Most of the technologies were developed by the West, he said, adding that it was high time for Indians to focus on and work towards developing newer technologies.
Microsoft tech leader Sunil Sathyavolu said that in the era of a co-pilot, Gen Z and Alpha should aim to be pilots. Those who learn to work with AI are the ones who will survive, he said.
Brain O’ Vision CEO Ganesh Nag Doddi said he wanted the DSA for Deeptech course to be accessible to as many students as possible.
