Hyderabad: As an endeavour to solidify the bond of oneness and unification, Army Public School Golconda celebrated the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel on October 30 as Rashtriya Ekta Diwas(National Unity Day). Numerous activities were organised all through the day to support the cause of promoting “National Unity Day” on both online and offline platforms. A special morning assembly followed by tributary speeches enlightened the students where they could visualise the role of Sardar Patel.
Students along with NCC cadets took a collaborative oath to preserve the integrity and security of the nation in the spirit of unity. They also participated in “Run For Unity” which was flagged off by principal Vidya Muralidharan. IN her address, she apprised the students of the legacy of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and his tenuous efforts in integrating over 565 princely states into the Union of India with his astute administrative abilities and iron will. Students also presented a cultural show on ‘Unity in Diversity’ resonating the virtues much desired in today’s world of intolerance.
Chief guest Ravi Ranjan, who was awarded Raj Bhasha Kirti Award motivated students with his inspirational words and encouraged them to strive to become global citizens. Activities like poster making, slogan writing, poetry recitation, folk dance etc. were conducted on the theme of promoting the values of our Preamble inspired the students to salute the life history and contribution of Sardar Patel towards the making of India.
