Delhi Public School, Nadergul observed ‘World Day Against Child Labour’ on June 12, with active participation from the students.
To make the students aware of the social issue of child labour and to make them understand the need for them to take steps to counter it, the students of grades VI to X were invited to participate in various events conducted by the school.
A good number of students participated in this event, to do their bit to protect their peers from the dangers.
They came out with wonderful creations spreading awareness. The artistic bunch of the school went ahead and created masterpieces voicing their protest against child labour. Budding painters painted their hearts out and envisaged an alternate, colourful world of happiness free of such inhuman act through the tips of their colour pencils and brushes. Some of them also created posters to spread awareness.
Message through short films
The talented actors of the school spun out heart-touching stories, taking up the roles of children forced to work, in their short film or mono act performances.
While some of the wonderful dancers protested against child labour using their moves, some unique raps were also created as a form of protest against this atrocity against children and also to create awareness. The masterminds took to words as they argued about the importance of education and the disadvantages of child labour through a paragraph writing activity.
