Sangareddy: Buggy power efficiency competition tests were conducted in various categories during the mechanical Bajaj Se India-2026 Day 2 at BVRIT, Narsapur. Convener Ali Syed and Joint Convener Dr Vemula Muralikrishna said that the students showcased their engineering skills in an enthusiastic atmosphere as the buggy teams displayed their prowess in key tests like acceleration, sled pull, manoeuvrability, suspension and traction. The teams also successfully conducted static events like technical inspections, cost validation, sustainability and innovation on Friday.

The main criterion for the brake test for qualification was to drive the vehicle at a speed of 40 km/h for a distance of 100 feet and lock all four wheels at the finish line. By the end of the second day, 17 teams had successfully completed the brake test and entered the next dynamic events. The teams which completed the safety checks participated in dynamic events like sled pull, acceleration, manoeuvring, suspension and traction.

Speaking on the occasion, Secretary, Baja Se India organising committee, Jatin Garg said that they were delighted to introduce the new Honda GX430 engine to all the teams participating in the Bajaj Se India. Honda India Power Products Limited is providing this engine to the students at a subsidised price. The 425cc GX430 engine delivers 12.87 HP of power at 3,600 rpm and 27.7 Nm of peak torque at 2,500 rpm. This provides excellent performance in off-road conditions and long-term reliability. “We are confident that the students will be able to translate the principles learned in the classroom into real-world engineering solutions,” he said.

Principal BVRIT, Dr Sanjay Dubey, Director Dr Lakshmi Prasad, Chairman of organising committee, Balaji Subramaniam, Advisor, Bajaj Se India Dr KC Vora and others were among those who witnessed the performances of the participants.
