Sudanese passenger tests negative for Ebola, to be discharged from Gandhi Hospital
A Sudanese passenger admitted to Gandhi Hospital's Ebola isolation ward after developing a mild fever upon arrival at RGIA has tested negative for the virus. Hospital authorities said the patient will be discharged soon, while two other test reports are awaited.
Hyderabad: The air passenger from Sudan, who was admitted to the Ebola isolation ward at Gandhi Hospital on Thursday for suspected Ebola, has tested negative., according to Gandhi Hospital Superintendent, Dr Vani.
The Sudanese passenger, who had arrived at RGIA on Thursday had mild fever, which was detected by the thermal scanners installed at the international airport.
The Ebola test results from Hyderabad-based CCMB arrived on Saturday morning.
The Sudanese patient is scheduled to undergo a knee surgery at a private hospital on in Hyderabad.
According to the hospital doctors, the patient will be discharged at the earliest from Gandhi Hospital.
Tests of two more suspected Ebola patients are expected to arrive in a day or two, doctors added.
