Karimnagar: Sudden rains coupled with strong gales lashed several parts of Karimnagar district on Friday, bringing much-needed respite from severe humid conditions, but leaving a trail of destruction.

People heaved a sigh of relief as they had been suffering from unbearable humid conditions, and the sudden downpour brought much-needed relief in the afternoon. However, the strong gales uprooted several trees and damaged power lines, leading to power outages.

Flexi boards erected across the town were uprooted or damaged due to the strong gales. At several places, the flexi boards got entangled with power lines, leading to disruptions in power supply.

The sudden downpour left drains overflowing in many areas of the town, affecting the movement of vehicles. Rainwater inundated several roads, leading to traffic disruptions.
