Hyderabad: BRS MLA D Sudheer Reddy stated that the Congress government had provided only 13,000 government jobs over the last 30 months. He questioned the government’s decision to notify only 7,000 posts despite 19,000 vacancies having been identified by the DGP in the police department.
Speaking to mediapersons at Telangana Bhavan on Tuesday, Sudheer Reddy said that while GO 31 issued by the previous BRS government increased the upper age limit for constable and SI posts, the latest notification retained the old age limit, disadvantaging aspirants. He demanded the withdrawal of the new long-jump requirement and an increase in the age limit for police recruitment. He also criticised the Rs 1,500 fee for the SI examination and the Rs 1,000 fee for the constable examination, alleging that the government was doing business with students and unemployed youth.
The BRS MLA also opposed the new driving licence requirement for fire department posts and urged the government to fill vacancies in the newly created Hyderabad commissionerates based on the old districts until procedural issues under the Presidential Orders are resolved.
