Sunny Austin rocking the Hyderabad music scene
His rap songs give the right dose of entertainment for Telugu music lovers
Sunny Austin is a name that is synonymous with independent music in the Telugu States. You must have definitely heard his catchy voice in a number of hits like Jimpak Chipak, Layilo, and Trap Raja. He has got 70-plus million views for his songs and has 1.3 lakh subscribers for his YouTube channel.
“We will definitely find time if we like something and that’s exactly what happened with me. I used to play for the church choir from my school days and later that interest has turned into passion for music and I started focusing on rap songs,” says Sunny.
“I’m working for an MNC as a team leader, and weekend is the only time I get to practise and I make sure I give my best. Most of the time, I only practise at night and it makes me to concentrate more on the music,” shares Sunny, who is currently focused on private albums.
Sunny and his friend Chinna Swamy often collaborate on music. “We met through a common friend, Ram Miriyala, and have continued the journey of making music. We used to edit the videos on the laptop but now things changed and so we have our own studios in Sainikpuri,” says the 27-year-old artiste.
Sunny’s musical career began seven years ago, but it has only been five years since he has ventured into independent music. He worked for the 2019 movie Akkadokaduntadu and also for a private song for a Telugu News channel during the Bonalu festival. “I should thank the audience who are supporting us. Only a handful of Telugu independent artistes are being recognised in the industry; I wish there would be more scope for Telugu independent artistes who can prove their talent and create their own identity,” says Sunny, who is looking forward to opportunities in the Telugu film industry.
Sunny and Chinna Swamy have been praised by many celebrities. “I have been appreciated by hero Navdeep and Roll Rida, and it gives more confidence and boosts up my morale when well-known people from the film and music industry appreciate my work. I will be working on different concepts to entertain audience,” concludes Sunny, whose new song Vanajari, released in January, and is making waves on YouTube.
