Hyderabad: Suresh Duvvala scored 9.5 points from 12 rounds to emerge champion in the open category of the 184th Brilliant Trophy chess tournament, on Monday.
In the junior category, Gopalakrishna took the top honours with 11 points from 12 rounds. He was tied for the top spot with Yatharth Patel but Gopalakrishna from Meerut won the tie-breaker.
