The Amazon Prime Video film ‘Jai Bhim’ starring Suriya has been the biggest release on OTT this week. Receiving rave reviews from critics as well as the audience, the Diwali blockbuster has touched the hearts of many for its honest portrayal of a real-life police brutality incident against an oppressed tribe in Madras.
Telugu film star Rao Ramesh essays an important role of an Advocate General in the Tamil-language film directed by TJ Gnanavel. Speaking about working with Suriya, he shared, “I had a great experience working with Suriya for the first time in my career. While I had already heard a lot of people praising him, I could witness his dedication and hard work personally while shooting for ‘Jai Bhim’. He is a cool and composed person and is always helping people on the sets. I also got to know about his humanitarian side – he has been helping many children receive an education. He is a real-life hero.”
This is the first time Rao Ramesh has dubbed in Tamil in over 20 years of his film career. Ramesh recalled his childhood in Tamil Nadu and how it played a key role in him perfecting the local dialect.
“In Tamil Nadu, people are very proud of their native language and even the film industry prefers casting Tamil actors. I am thankful for the director and Suriya for letting me be part of the film and allowing me to dub my own dialogues, I wish to act in more Tamil films in the future,” says Rao Ramesh, who received a grand send-off from the cast and crew for his stellar performance on the last day of the shoot.
