Mahabubabad: Superintendent of Police (SP) N Koti Reddy said the police department would provide treatment to Covid-19 infected Maoists if they surrender to the police. He also urged Telangana State Committee Secretary and Central Committee member Yapa Narayana alias Haribhushan’s wife Bejjeri Sammakka alias Saradakka to join the social mainstream as she too was reportedly suffering from Covid-19 and get treatment.

Narayana succumbed to Covid-19 on June 21, and there were rumours that his partner Sammakka  too succumbed to Covid-19 on June 24. But the CPI Maoists condemned this news in a statement released recently and accused the police of spreading false news.  Sammakka, a native of Gangaram village in Mahabubabad district, located near Madagudem village of Yapa Narayana, too joined the outlawed CPI Maoist party and has been serving the party.

Koti Reddy, who met the kin of Haribushan at his native village Madagudem of Gangaram mandal in the district on Thursday, said they would provide treatment to Sammakka if she surrendered to the police. “The Maoists should shun the old and irrelevant ideologies and join the mainstream to lead a normal life and protect their lives,” Koti Reddy said.
