Suryapet: Suryapet police foiled a murder plan targeting Davula Veeraprasad, a TRS ZPTC member of Jajireddygudem, with the arrest of four persons including two rowdy-sheeters at Seetharampuram Colony in the town. One knife, three sickles and a kg of ganja were also seized from them.
The arrested have been identified as Lingampally Sudhakar(32), Lingampally Sanjay (38) and Aluvala Venkata Swamy, all natives of Arvepally village, and Pothuraju Saidulu (37), a native of Sitharampuram in the district.
Producing the arrested persons before the media here, Superintendent of Police Rajendra Prasad said that on credible information that a person was in possession of ganja in Sitharampuram Colony, Suryapet town police raided a house on Wednesday afternoon and took four persons into custody. The ganja, sickles and knife were found by the police in the house.
During interrogation, the arrested persons confessed that they planned to kill Veeraprasad. Sudhakar had differences with Veeraprasad in family matters and also land disputes. He formed a group with the other three who also nursed grudges against the TRS leader and hatched a plan to eliminate him.
Venkata Swamy, a former Chairman of Musi Fishermen’s Cooperative Society, also had grudges against Veeraprasad after the latter’s followers attacked his house during the clash that took place at Arvepally during BJP state president Bandi Sanjay’s tour recently. Sanjay and Sudhakar were earlier accused in a case of supari murder. Sanjay was also operating an online prostitution racket and maintaining contacts with prostitution rackets in Vishakapatnam, Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Pune and Nagpur through Whatsapp groups, the police said.
