Suryapet: Rythu Bandhu Samithi State president Palla Rajeshwar Reddy on Wednesday said people should elect candidates who are capable of taking issues to the notice of the State government and solve them instead of persons who would only make a hue and cry over every issue.

Speaking at a TRS preparatory meeting for Warangal-Nalgonda-Khammam Graduate MLC election at Arvepally in the district, Rajeshwar Reddy said the situation in several Assembly constituencies like Thungathrthy had completely changed after State formation due to the measures taken up by the government. Thungathurthy Assembly constituency, he said, was known for its politically destructive atmosphere about 30 years ago besides irrigation facility denied to the people of the area till the formation of Telangana State.

He pointed out that farmers in the constituency were now getting irrigation facility through SRSP canal for two crops. “All the irrigation tanks in the area are now brimming with water and the constituency has been witnessing peaceful atmosphere,” he said.

Rajeshwar Reddy said graduates should think about the changes in the socio-economic conditions of the people due to the welfare schemes taken up by Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao before taking a decision on supporting a candidate in the MLC elections. “People in the State are seeing development and peace in the past six years,” he added.

Stating that only Telangana was implementing an investment support scheme like Rythu Bandhu in the entire country, he said the State government has been supplying seed and fertilizers to farmers in time in addition to ensuring 24 hours free power supply to agriculture pump sets. The State government had also filled 1.26 lakh vacant jobs in the last six years, he added.

Thungathurthy MLA Gadari Kishore said Chandrashekhar Rao had taken Telangana State to the top position in the country in development and welfare in a short span of six years. “TRS cadres should explain to the graduates about the welfare schemes and development projects of the State government and work hard for the victory of TRS-supported candidate in the Graduates MLC election,” he said.

Suryapet Zilla Parishad Chairperson Gujja Deepika Yungender Rao and several local bodies’ elected representatives from TRS attended the meeting.
