Kothagudem: A suspect in a wild animals hunting case has allegedly committed suicide by consuming poison at Penuballi village of Chunchupalli mandal in the district during late night hours of Friday.

The deceased, Jabba Chanti (24) of the village was summoned by the two-town police for questioning in connection with the electrocution of a hunter, M Sunil Kumar of Kothagudem. Kumar who went hunting animals in Penuballi forests on Friday was electrocuted as he came in contact with an electric trap set up to hunt animals.


It was said that when the police tried to find out about the culprit involved in laying the electric trap many at the village pointed the finger at Chanti. Distressed at being suspected in the case he consumed pesticide at home and went to the police station.

The police when found that the suspect consumed poison they let him go and shifted him to Kothagudem District Headquarters Hospital for treatment. He died undergoing treatment.

Meanwhile, Kumar ‘s dead body, which went missing after his electrocution, was not yet found and the police continuing their search for the body.
