Nalgonda: Zilla Parishad Chairman Banda Narender Reddy on Tuesday said the use of organic fertilizers by farmers will also help in protecting environment.

Speaking after launching a plantation programme taken up by District Biodiversity Committee along with Musi river in Ambanabole mandal, Narender Reddy said that the State government had taken up Telangana Ku Haritha Haram to improve green coverage area in the State. It would also help in the protection of the environment by reducing pollution. Humans have been facing air and sound pollution problems in towns and cities.

He also asked the farmers to switch over to organic farming from the cultivation using chemical fertilizers. Excess use of chemical fertilizers for the cultivation would have an adverse impact on the people, who would consume the food products. We have the responsibility to ensure a pollution free atmosphere for future generations, he added.

Pointing out that planting trees under Telangana Ku Haritha Haram had yielded results in the State, he said the government involved the people in the mass plantation programme.
