Hyderabad: Varuni Jaiswal and G Aravind Kumar topped the table after group matches in women and men categories respectively in the “Late Sri Loknath Samal 8th Telangana Stage Inter-district and State Table Tennis Championship” that got underway at Somnath Ghosh MLR-UTT Academy in Hyderabad on Monday.
International Naina Jaiswal, who is on the comeback trail, also made it to the top-8 (super league) in the women’s category.
The top-8 players who qualified to the super league:
Men: G.Aravind Kumar (AWA), Mohammed Ali (LBS), B.Varun Shanker (MLR), B.Vathsin (GTTA), Zubair Farooqui (LBS), Saswat Samal (MLR), Swarnendu (AVSC) and Aman Balgu (CR SCB)
Women: Varuni Jaiwwal (GSM), N.Bhaavita (GSM), Monika (GSM), G Praneeta (HVS), B.R.Niveditha (MLR), Nikat Bhanu (GSM), Naina Jaiswal (LBS), K.Ikshita (AWA).The super league among the top eight players will be conducted from Thursday.
