Activist Sharjeel Imam sought bail in the February 2020 Delhi riots case, expressing anguish before the Supreme Court over being labelled a “dangerous intellectual terrorist” without trial or conviction. His counsel, senior advocate Siddhartha Dave, argued that Imam is a citizen by birth who has not been convicted of any offence.
