The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) launched a sharp counter to Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy’s remarks on 22-A prohibited lands, accusing him of misleading the Assembly and shifting blame to the previous government.
Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, who had earlier apologised to property owners over the prohibited lands controversy, on Saturday accused the previous BRS government of creating the problem.
BRS chief K Chandrashekhar Rao will spearhead a people’s movement against the Congress government after the Assembly session, accusing it of neglecting the Kaleshwaram and Palamuru-Rangareddy irrigation projects. At a crucial Legislature Party meeting, the BRS resolved to adopt an aggressive floor strategy on public issues.
Malkajgiri MLA Marri Rajasekhar Reddy demanded the removal of lands in his constituency from the 22A prohibited list, saying nearly 30,000 families were facing difficulties. BRS leader T Harish Rao also demanded Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy’s resignation
