India is preparing for the first test of the Kusha long-range surface-to-air missile system, a domestically developed weapon that will form a crucial part of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Sudarshan Chakra mission — a two-phase plan to build a multilayered national defence umbrella against aerial threats by 2035.
Seven individuals from Telangana have been named for the Padma Shri awards this year, recognising contributions in science, medicine, engineering, research, and the arts.
DRDO has successfully completed user evaluation trials of the next-generation Akash missile system, paving the way for its induction into the armed forces. The Akash-NG demonstrated precision against diverse aerial threats, including high-speed, low-altitude and long-range high-altitude targets.
