School Education Director Dr. E Naveen Nicolas has directed district educational officers to intensify enrollment in government schools under Prof. Jayashankar Badi Bata for 2026-27. He emphasised readiness of schools before reopening, proper teacher deployment, and inspections to improve learning outcomes.
The enrollment drop is attributed to growing dissatisfaction with quality of education and infrastructure extended in government-run schools, forcing parents to enroll their wards in private schools where admissions have gone up
