The IPL 2027 players’ auction is likely to return to India after three editions overseas, league chairman Arun Dhumal said. He also said the BCCI is reviewing the Impact Player rule after seeking fresh feedback from teams and stakeholders
IPL chairman Arun Dhumal praised 15-year-old Vaibhav Sooryavanshi as a rare talent with the potential to become India’s youngest debutant, while noting strong competition for opening spots despite the youngster’s explosive performances in IPL 2026.
There were serious doubts whether the IPL will be on given the latest developments across the border and also the heightened security measures and critical advisories to the general public across India
Dhumal said that initially this season itself the plans were for 84 matches but were delayed due to a scheduling crunch around the tournament’s window and the broadcasters’ aversion to too many double-headers
