Balapur Ganesh commenced its nearly 19-km Shobha Yatra from Balapur to Hussain Sagar on Friday. The procession will pass through several parts of the Old City amid heavy security, with the idol expected to reach Charminar in the evening before immersion.
Hyderabad’s famous Balapur Ganesh laddu prasadam fetched Rs 39 lakh at auction on Friday, Rs 4 lakh more than last year. Urban Group head Sama Praneeth Reddy won the bidding after intense competition from locals and an NRI.
