The Amarnath Yatra resumed on Saturday after a six-day suspension caused by heavy rains and highway landslides. A fresh batch of 6,269 pilgrims left the Jammu base camp for Baltal under heavy security as weather conditions improved across Kashmir

No yatri convoy left Bhagwati Nagar base camp on Friday due to alternate yatra plans amidst fewer pilgrims arriving.

Since its commencement on July 1, over 400,000 pilgrims have participated in this year's Amarnath Yatra.

As many as 3.97 lakh pilgrims have so far paid obeisance at the shrine since the beginning of the 62-day-long annual pilgrimage on July 1. The yatra will conclude on August 31.

Since the commencement of the annual pilgrimage on July 1, approximately 2.90 lakh devotees have visited the Amarnath shrine.
