The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) seized 225 uncertified consumer goods worth Rs 8 lakh during a raid in Secunderabad. Items like mixers, cookers, fans and irons were found without BIS certification, violating the BIS Act, 2016
The BIS-Hyderabad in a press release said toys with spurious license number and BIS Standard Mark were seized and action was being initiated under the BIS Act, 2016.
